STAMMER
(Danish for "tribes")
We are all born into a tribe —and throughout life, we weave into new ones (friends, colleagues, chosen communities) while leaving other behind, whether we want to or not.
These tribes shape who we are, offering identity, belonging, sometimes even conflict.
These photographs explore what it means to be seen within a tribe. Each subject was invited to simply be just themselves as if caught in a mirror, within their tribe, within their home.
Who do we see in that reflection? Who do we want to see?
These portraits are documents of time, place, and human connection. A reminder that even across differences in appearance or culture, we might find pieces of ourselves in unfamiliar tribes—ones we might someday call family.
This series is on-going.
